Katy High School

 Since taking the reins at Katy in 2004 Gary Joseph has expanded upon Tiger’s strong tradition and turned Katy into one of the state’s elite football powers. Coach Joseph has led the Katy Tigers to eight state finals games -  winning four state championships (2007, 2008, 2012, 2015). His current coaching record stands at a remarkable 168-14. After the Tigers' title win in 2012, they were named National Champions by the National Sports News Service; additionally, Coach Joseph was named 2012 National High School Coach of the Year. He has been named District 18/19 6A Coach of the Year eleven times, Houston Touchdown Club Coach of the Year in 2005and 2013, Houston Texans 5A Coach of the Year in 2005, 2007, 2008 and 2013. Joseph was also named by the TSWA as Coach of the Year for 2007 and 2012. Coach Joseph was honored by the Katy Chamber of Commerce as Katy's 2007 Citizen of the Year. He also received the 2008 Regional Coach of the Year Award for the southwest region of the United States. Coach Joseph has served on the Board of Directors of the THSCA, the GHFCA, and on the coaching staff of five prestigious all-star games, including the 2009 THSCA game where he served as the head coach for the South All Stars. He played high school football in Wharton for father Eddie Joseph, longtime THSCA executive VP and Texas High School Football HOF inductee. Coach Joseph began his coaching career at Luling High School thirty-seven years ago. After advancing in jobs at Brazosport and Austin Westlake, he then moved to Katy High School where he has served for 34 years -22 of those as Mike Johnston's assistant head coach and defensive coordinator.
